This will be our first venture into Skyline Regional Park. From the parking area, we will hike 1.4 miles on Quartz Mine Trail to 1.64 miles on the Skyline Crest Trail with an up and back to Crest Summit (only 200 ft). From here we will hike .3 on the Lost Creek Trail to .3 miles of the Mountain Wash Trail. On the return via Turnbuckle Trail will be another 1.7 miles and then a short .2 to the parking lot. Total Hike should be around 6.9 miles. For those that do not want to hike this distance, there is a shortcut via Turnbuckle Trail that will knock the total distance down to 4.74 miles. There are some ups and downs but no huge mountains to climb.
I wouldn't count on restrooms being open due to Covid but would suggest a stop at I-10 and Watson Road. I believe there is a Circle K there south of the I-10.
Directions To Park: Take Loop 303 to west on I-10. Exit at Watson Road (Exit 117) and turn right (north) approximately 2 miles to the park entrance. Keep driving to the end of the road and there is parking in the loop.
